IIA NZ AGM and Board Elections

Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting of the IIA NZ is to be held at the offices of PwC, Level 16, 113 – 119 The Terrace Wellington with video links through the offices of PwC in Auckland (188 Quay Street) and in Christchurch (Level 4, 60 Cashel Street Christchurch) on Friday 6 April 2018 commencing at 12 noon.

Board Structure and Tenor
The Rules of the Institute of Internal Auditors New Zealand Inc (S7) and supporting By Laws provide for the Board to be elected at the Annual General Meeting.  The elected member shall serve for a term of two (2) years. A Board member may be elected for a second concurrent term of two years; after which they must resign from the Board.

Currently two (2) Board members have completed their tenure. Sylvester Shamy and Shaun Dowers, have completed their two-year tenure and are required to step down, however are eligible for re-election.  Having served two concurrent terms, James Jong is required to resign from the Board.  Those having served a one-year term, namely, Melissa Bailey, Jo Ogg, Deb Peach and James Rees-Thomas will remain on the Board for a further one-year term.

 In accordance with the By Laws (Clause 4.1)
"The Board shall comprise of up to seven (7) directors elected by the membership.  The Board has the ability to co-opt up to three (3) additional directors.  The maximum number of Board members shall not exceed ten (10) in total".

Nominations were called to fill the vacant positions on the Board.

Four (4) nominations have been received to fill the three (3) vacancies.
