Fundamentals of Internal Auditing

Starting your career in internal auditing, or looking to brush up on your knowledge?

Then join us for Fundamentals of Internal Auditing - the best way to understand the key aspects of the internal audit process.

Through team exercises, group discussion and lectures, you will gain a foundation of knowledge that will allow you to properly prepare for and conduct a successful audit using preliminary surveys and evidence-gathering techniques.

A basic understanding of the roles of risk and internal controls in auditing will be covered, along with interpersonal and client relationship skills.

Brian Robb - CA, CIA, CRMA, QAR, BCA, MPA (Exec)

Brian is a well-qualified and experienced assurance practitioner with over 30 years in the assurance profession both in external and internal assurance roles. He has worked in a number of medium to large organisations, mainly in the public sector, covering a number of different industries including Telecommunication, Energy, Information, Education, Insurance, Construction, Transport, Regulatory and Health.

A Fellow of IIA NZ, Brian is also a past IIA NZ president and has served on the IIA NZ Wellington and Education Committees. He provides advice to IIA NZ members on education matters and has been an assurance trainer for over 2 decades.

Brian currently works as an Assurance Services Manager for the Ministry of Education, and runs his own assurance consulting business mainly providing training and review services.
