Risk Remediation: Holidays Act 2003 non-compliance

Compliance with the Holidays Act 2003 is a well-known current challenge for a wide range of businesses across New Zealand. The identification and remediation of identified issues is a complex problem to solve and involves a number of teams within the business – including internal audit.

What is the role of internal audit and where can internal audit add expertise and value?

Presenter Bio's
Jo is a partner within EY’s Advisory business and has 20 years’ experience across risk management and remediation, internal audit and process improvement. Jo has significant experience in assisting organisations in delivering remediation projects for Holidays Act issues through identification, recalculation and remediation programmes of work.
 
Helen is an Associate Director in EY’s Advisory team with over 10 year’s experience in risk remediation, risk management and internal audit. Helen has led a number of remediation programmes from identification of an organisations issues, completing recalculations and repayment values to clients, assessing changes in systems and processes to facilitate compliance and helping design ongoing tolls for compliance monitoring.
