Welcome to the Institute of Internal Auditors New Zealand, the professional body for internal auditing
The presentation will focus on the story of Hnry including requirements to be a tax agent from an audit, AML, credibility and IT security points of view.
Hnry is an all-in-one service that takes care of all the financial admin for contractors, freelancers and the self-employed - allowing them to focus on getting the job done, rather than worrying about tax and compliance. Hnry provides a pay-as-you-go service, handling invoicing, expenses, payments, taxes and filings. As New Zealand's fastest-growing tax agency, Hnry helps thousands of individuals to focus on doing what they do best, without having to worry about the burden of financial admin.
Hnry also works closely with recruitment agencies and labour hire organisations, providing a value-add to keep their contractors compliant, whilst also removing the risk of the agency providing tax advice to contractors.
Hnry were a finalist for 'Hi-Tech Service of the Year' at the 2019 New Zealand Hi-Tech Awards, and recently won 'Emerging Service of the Year' at the 2019 Wellington Gold Awards.
James Fuller: James spent the early part of his career as an application developer, before moving into technology strategy and consultancy, where he held senior roles with firms such as Thomson Reuters and Deloitte. Having left the world of consultancy, he became an independent consultant, working with startups, corporate and government clients to help them drive scalable change using lean, agile and customer-focused principles.
Being self-employed and having to deal with the burden of tax and financial admin led James to create a simple home-made system for calculating and paying his taxes. After a few friends asked to use the same thing, James got together with co-founders Claire and Richard to create Hnry - a service designed to eliminate all financial admin for freelancers and contractors.
Michael Dowse: Michael is CTO for Hnry. He was an IT consultant at Loyalty NZ before leading the transition to an internal tech team at Flick Electric. Michael has been involved with scaling IT and engineering teams to build robust and secure platforms. Michael also believes that user experience is essential to deliver successful digital products.
Light refreshments will be served at approximately 12.45pm, followed by the IIA NZ session.
