Topic: Risk Volatility /Velocity and How This Impacts on the Control Environment

Presenter: Ken Gibb

Ken is a partner in Grant Thornton's Operational Advisory Team with over 25 years management experience providing risk management reviews and support, internal audit Health and Safety reviews, AML/CFT audits, process improvement reviews and advisory service in private commercial and public sectors.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton New Zealand, he spent 20 years working in the New Zealand energy sector in numerous roles covering operations, trading, risk and finance.

Ken has led a number of programmes for business change and team transformation to deliver improved business results through a collaborative approach using cross functional business teams.

He also has significant experience in the development of risk management policy and frameworks that enable organisations to understand how risks impact strategic objectives. Ken has changed the focus of finance teams from delivering just numbers to providing business insights that add value to senior managers' decision making.

Ken's senior career has mainly focussed on risk management and finance in the energy industry.
