Senior Internal Auditor – HealthShare Ltd – Taranaki based

Are you a skilled, experienced senior auditor looking to make the next step up in your career or are you searching for a new career in internal auditing to consolidate your current auditing skills?

This is the opportunity you are looking for - providing a chance to build on your previous knowledge and gain experience in the intricate world of health.

This position will form part of a Regional Internal Audit team providing an internal audit service to participating Midland DHBs, specifically to Lakes, Tairawhiti, Taranaki and Waikato DHBs. The role is based in New Plymouth with dual reporting via the Internal Audit Manager to the Chairpersons of the DHB Audit Committees and to the CEO of HealthShare Ltd in Hamilton.

This position will assist the DHBs in providing independent, quality audit and assurance advice to executive / senior management to enable the organization to make informed decisions. A reasonable amount of travel to and from Hamilton, and occasionally Rotorua or Gisborne, will be required.

To be successful in this position, you will need:

  • A tertiary or commerce qualification.
  • Preferably completion of, or study towards, formal internal audit qualifications, e.g. the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) credential.
  • Minimum of seven years internal audit experience, or five years if holding the CIA (or equivalent) credential.
  • Training in auditing to an advanced level.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in an audit / critiquing role, including problem-solving situations.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in planning, recommending and implementing courses of action for remedial purposes or for continuous improvement.
