TOPIC: Using Data Analytics to Combat Modern Fraud

The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, in coordination with Deloitte, is pleased to invite you to an engaging panel discussion around the use of data analytics within a fraud context.

This event will delve into how each panellist leverages data analytics within their roles as a tool to prevent and detect fraud and identify anomalies. Starting with a brief overview on the fundamentals of data analytics, the discussion will then transition into captivating narratives showcasing real-world instances of fraud prevention and detection through analytics. It will be an opportunity to gain insights into analytics and the explore the future trajectory of analytics within our industry.

Our panellists will comprise of:

  • Catherine Davidson is a Director at Deloitte Christchurch, and she leads the Forensic Analytics practice for Deloitte New Zealand.
  • Gillian Donnelly is a Senior Accountant at the University of Canterbury and is a Certified Financial Crimes Investigator. She has been involved in the network analytics space for several years and has experience with big data analytics used in investigations.
  • Christian Wengler has 10 years experience leading a small Fraud analytics team at The Earthquake Commission as well as providing fraud analytics in an insurance/natural disaster response environment.

This event is intended to be interactive, so attendees are encouraged to ask questions along the way and actively contribute with their perspectives.

We are pleased to be able to offer this event as both online and in person to our ACFE members in New Zealand.

This event starts from 4.30pm with networking and nibbles and the panel to commence at 5pm. For virtual attendees, the panel discussion will run between 5pm and 6pm.

A link for virtual attendance will be emailed to registrants who have opted to attend online prior to the event.
