External Quality Assessment (EQA) Services

 


Welcome to the IIA NZ External Quality Assessment (EQA) Service in partnership with The IIA

As of 9 January 2025, the new Global Internal Audit Standards came into effect, introducing an enhanced framework to elevate the internal audit profession worldwide. To learn more about the Standards and the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), click here.

In alignment with these new Standards, IIA NZ is proud to announce its partnership with The IIA, who developed and implemented the Global Internal Audit Standards, to offer an External Quality Assessment (EQA) service tailored for New Zealand organisations.

We offer three types of services:

  1. Gap Analysis Assessment 
  2. Self-Assessment with Independent Validation
  3. Full External Quality Assessments

These assessments will be conducted by NZ-based assessors in collaboration with The IIA, ensuring local expertise and global alignment.

Why Conduct an EQA?

IIA Quality Services helps validate and strengthen your internal audit activity and enhances your effectiveness, efficiency, and practice implementation.

An EQA provides numerous benefits, including:

As per the Standards, it is recommended that you conduct an EQA at least once every five years to maintain alignment and ensure continuous improvement.
