Reporting to the Head of Audit and Risk, this is a key role in promoting organisational excellence to support the Ministry to secure outcomes that matter to New Zealand.

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

As Internal Audit Manager, you'll be responsible for the development and delivery of the Ministry's Assurance Plan. To do this you will:

  • Lead the team in a range of audits that improve our processes both in Wellington and at our offshore offices
  • Provide advice to managers across the Ministry to help maintain a robust control environment
  • Manage and develop the audit team

The salary band for this role is $114,000 to $154,000 per annum including employer contribution to KiwiSaver. Negotiable depending on experience.

You will be an experienced leader with a background in Audit and Assurance. In particular we would like to see your application demonstrate that:

  • You've had experience in leading a team to successfully deliver an Assurance Plan
  • Your insights gained from a cross-organisational perspective are valued by senior management
  • You can build, maintain and leverage relationships at all levels across the range of business groups
  • You have a deep knowledge of internal audit practices that you can apply to a wide variety of situations
  • Your focus is on helping your customers succeed
