Our Co-operative
Te Mātāpuna toa takitini

Fonterra’s strength is in the collective

We are a Co-operative created and owned by Aotearoa New Zealand dairy farmers. Our rich history is built on farming families working together to share the natural goodness of our dairy with the world.

Collaboration, innovation, and passion was the cornerstone of our creation and something we continue to value today through our commitment to care for the land, our animals, and every drop of milk. Our milk creates goodness through nutritious food with safe, quality ingredients that are loved here in New Zealand and around the world.

About the opportunity

We are looking for two Senior Internal Audit Managers to report to the GM of Internal Audit (GMIA), within our Governance, Risk and Audit team. You will be a strategic and trusted business partner in all areas of business risk – financial, strategic, operational, manufacturing, and sustainability within in an agile environment, and have the opportunity to work on multiple projects and work streams.

You will work alongside the GMIA to:

  • Provide assurance to the Board and Stakeholders that key controls are adequately run to address key risks, building a culture of collaboration and high performance
  • Promote the profile of Internal Audit within Fonterra
  • With 3 direct reports, there is responsibility for coaching, developing and providing collaborative support to the team
  • Lead and provide quality assurance on the delivery of (end to end) complex reviews to deliver high quality work and effectively manage multiple stakeholders
  • Lead the delivery/project management of strategic/risk initiatives and ad-hoc projects, including investigations, as required
  • Support the development and deployment of an integrated and agile risk-based internal audit plan

About you

You will enjoy the opportunity to be strategic, embedding yourself as a trusted advisor to the business. Having worked within a complex organisation, you lead by example and know how to think on your feet if the standards and regulations are unclear.

In addition to this you will have:

  • Expertise developing and executing world class technical audit and business processes, systems and methodologies required to support business practices
  • Strong relationship management skills – including the ability to lead through influence and collaboration
  • Ability to project manage as well as lead and motivate staff building capability in the business
  • Commercial and financial acumen with a strategic perspective on controls, governance and risk

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced auditor and manager who wants to integrate themselves into Fonterra in a strategic business partnering role, whilst developing and collaborating with a team. There are opportunities for career development and mentorship to take you to the next level.
