Anti-Corruption forum: Wellington launch of NIS section

Jointly and proudly hosted by Transparency International New Zealand (TINZ), along with the New Zealand Chapters of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), Risk Management Society (RIMS) and the Office of the Auditor General and Business Central.

This event will focus on the public sector, specifically the anti-corruption ecosystem in New Zealand. It will include the launch of the first part of the National Integrity System Assessment, looking at the effectiveness of core anti-corruption functions of government in preventing, detecting and prosecuting corruption (Simon Chapple is the researcher). Senior officials from core agencies involved in anti-corruption along with the business sector will also take part in a panel discussion.

Hear from François Valérian, Chair of the global Transparency International, on trends and risks of corruption in the world, how that will affect New Zealand and what role NZ should play in fighting corruption.

TINZ will launch research produced in support of its National Integrity System Assessment. Simon Chapple will talk about his assessment of the effectiveness of anticorruption institutions in New Zealand in deterring, detecting and exposing corruption.

Andrew McConnell, Deputy Auditor-General will lead a panel discussion on the New Zealand anti-corruption ecosystem, with Dan Eaton (SFO) and senior NZ Police, Justice, PSC and business representatives. Canapes and refreshments provided.

There will be time for networking from 5.00 pm
