Workshop Summary: IIA NZ Constitution Review Member Workshops Facilitators: Shaun Dowers/David Sinkins and the IIA NZ Constitution Committee On 5 October 2023, the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 (the 2022 Act) came into force, modernising the laws and the way societies need to operate. Existing societies must reregister under the 2022 Act if they wish to remain incorporated. It's crucial to understand what reregistration entails and the consequences of not reregistering. Societies will need to prepare certain documents and possibly adopt new processes to comply with the 2022 Act. Existing societies can apply to reregister under the 2022 Act anytime from 5 October 2023 to 5 April 2026. Until reregistration, societies must continue to operate under the 1908 Act. In response to these changes, IIA NZ established a Constitution and Policy Committee in 2023, which has been diligently reviewing our Constitution (Rules) and By Laws to meet these new requirements. The revised IIA NZ Constitution was released on 1 October and is available in the MyIIA member portal. We will be hosting two member-only online workshops to address any questions regarding this document. The member review period will open on 1 October and close on 1 December, ensuring that IIA NZ is prepared with a final version of the Constitution for submission at the AGM on Wednesday, 21 May 2025. Join us at any of the IIA NZ Constitution Review Member Workshop sessions to gain a comprehensive understanding of the new requirements and to participate in the review process. This is a closed IIA NZ member's workshop. If you require assistance with registering, please contact events@iianz.org.nzIIA NZ Constitution Review Member Workshop: 1st Session
