Cybersecurity Insights for Tech Professionals

Description

Cyber security professionals are critical to the defence of New Zealanders and their businesses against cyber crime. This Cyber Smart Week, we've prepared a webinar designed specifically for the professionals working to keep us safe. Jimmy Butcher from NCSC's Regulatory and Advisory branch will review the current threat landscape, provide insights informed by research and outline our systemwide defence. He'll be joined by Alastair Ross who has worked in IT and Information Security for 25 years. Alastair is now the CEO of Revolution InfoSec which helps kiwi organisations reduce their cybersecurity risk. There will be an opportunity for Q&A at the end of the session.


Speakers:

Jimmy Butcher, Principal Security Architect, NCSC Regulatory and Advisory branc

Jimmy is the Principal Security Architect with the NCSC's Regulatory and Advisory branch and has experience securing some of New Zealand's largest organisations. Jimmy has 20 years of experience in information technology and security roles with organisations in local and central government, financial services, energy, technology, transport, manufacturing, exporters, healthcare and media.

Alistair Ross, CEO, Revolution InfoSec

Alistair has been working in IT and Information Security for 25 years. He is the CEO of Revolution InfoSec which helps Kiwi organisations reduce their cybersecurity risk. Previously, Alistair has been CISO and led teams in organisations large and small across NZ and worldwide, including Cognizant, Solnet, Amazon, GE, and more. He loves technology and helping businesses get the most from their tech in an understandable way, whilst doing it safely. He also has a podcast called "The Technology Whisperers", as well as a Youtube channel.
