About the Role:
This is an integral role within our wider Legal team, reporting to the Risk and Compliance Manager ANZ, where you will be responsible for ensuring the retail operations of NZ meet all regulatory standards, internal policies and industry best practices. As this role is working across NZ, you must be comfortable to be out in the field and will need to be based at our National Support Office in Ellerslie when not on the road.
Key responsibilities will also include:
- Retail Data Analytics and Reporting: Leverage retail data to identify risk exposure and compliance gaps, developing interactive dashboards using Power BI or Tableau to visualise risk and compliance indicators, utilising these to support strategic decisions
- Risk Management and Compliance: Lead the identification, assessment and mitigation of operational, regulatory and strategic risks while maintaining and enhancing risk registers and compliance frameworks specific to the retail environment
- Policy Development and Advisory: Draft, review and update risk and compliance policies to align with retail industry best practices, and provide expect guidance to other business units
- Audit and Assurance: Coordination of internal and external audits, with a strong focus on retail operations and data integrity, and conducting compliance reviews and risk assessments across all retail channels and business functions
- Stakeholder Engagement and Training: Partner with retail, finance, IT and legal teams to embed a strong risk and compliance culture, delivering training and awareness programs to staff and management
- Compliance Support & Investigations : Provide support in the overall compliance of Bridgestone operations, including J-SOX testing and insurance claims management. Perform investigations into potential compliance breaches or risk incidents under the guidance of the Risk and Compliance Manager
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends to adapt risk and compliance strategies, whilst also championing innovation in compliance monitoring and risk reporting through automation and digital tools
To be successful you will need:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working within a retail environment, and ideally within an operational, risk management or compliance position
- Proven capability in developing and implementing operational excellence, risk and compliance programs
- Strong computer proficiency, with excellent data analytical skills, and ability to pick up new software quickly
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to both present and partner with stakeholders to achieve favourable business outcomes
- Solid planning, organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a keen eye for detail
