Tēnā koutou katoa, IIA NZ Members,
I am delighted to announce that the results of the Institute of Internal Auditors of New Zealand (IIA NZ) Board Elections, which took place during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday 21 May 2025, at noon, held at PwC, 10 Customhouse Quay, Wellington, have been finalised.
It gives me great pleasure to welcome and introduce two exceptional individuals who have been appointed to join the IIA NZ board.
Please join me in extending a warm welcome to the following newly elected board members:
Their successful election is a reflection of their dedication to the internal auditing profession. Each brings a distinct combination of skills, experience, and perspective that will contribute meaningfully to the future direction of IIA NZ. We are fortunate to have them join the team and look forward to working together to further our mission and strengthen the impact of internal audit across Aotearoa and the Pacific.
The 2025 AGM marked a significant milestone for IIA NZ, with the unanimous approval of two Special Resolutions: the adoption of the new 2025 Constitution, aligned with the Incorporated Societies Act 2022, and the re-registration of IIA NZ under the updated Constitution. This moment reflects our organisation's commitment to robust governance and forward-looking leadership.
I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our departing Board members, Ramon Manzano and Jocelyn Ooi, as well as our co-opted Board member Grace Nunn, for their valued contributions to IIA NZ. Your dedication, time, and commitment over the past term have been truly appreciated. Thank you for your service and the selfless efforts you’ve given to our community — we are deeply grateful.
Our sincere thanks go to all IIA NZ members who joined us, either in person or online. It was truly special to have your support and engagement throughout the event. We were pleased to deliver a hybrid format once again, enabling broader participation and ensuring members across Aotearoa and the Pacific could be part of this important occasion.
Congratulations to our newly elected Board members, best wishes to those departing, and thank you to everyone who attended the 2025 AGM. Your support helped make it a meaningful and inclusive event as we continue advancing excellence in internal auditing together.
Ngā manaakitanga,
Sally Dunbar
