We are thrilled to announce the inaugural IIA NZ Heads of Internal Audit (IA) Interest forum event scheduled for 9 April. These events are specifically tailored for professionals occupying pivotal roles in internal auditing. It's important to emphasize that this forum is accessible to individuals currently holding either new or existing positions as Internal Audit Heads. While all IIA NZ members can attend these panel workshops (hybrid), the discussion will be focused at a senior level. Overview: The IIA NZ Heads of IA Interest workshop is a forum designed to bring together professionals responsible for leading internal audit teams. This gathering is integral to elevate skills at this level, provide thought leadership, and discuss crucial topics at a senior level. These forums also align with the new Global IIA Executive Leadership Programme as a NZ initiative; therefore, we encourage anyone holding a position as an Audit Head to attend. This event will provide valuable opportunities to learn, network, and participate in discussions led by senior leaders in the Internal Auditor profession. Who should attend? We wish to emphasize that this event is tailored for senior IA professionals and Heads of Internal Auditors with significant longevity and experience in the profession. This platform has been designed where senior viewpoints can be shared amongst peers operating at that level. Delve into strategies, challenges, and best practices as internal auditors navigate this evolving landscape, ensuring organisations effectively address environmental and sustainability considerations. Explore the intersection of internal audit leadership and the growing importance of corporate responsibility in today's business environment. ASB General Manager A&A (Emma-Jayne Liddy) and ASB Head of Data Analytics and AI (Gagan Salgotra) will present on how ASB is approaching the role of Internal Audit in Climate and Sustainability. They will describe their approach, tooling, and relationship with external auditors. ASB will share their Integrated Assurance Plan developed with Line 2, PwC, ASB's parent company CBA, and themselves. The panel will then invite discussion on the interpretation of the role of IA in ESG and how other Heads of are interpreting it, as well as how other Boards are looking at the role of IA to guide them.
