Governing the Internal Audit Function - Implications for Boards from new Global Internal Audit Standards

Event Overview:

New Global Internal Audit Standards from the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) introduced significant governance requirements under Domain III - Governing the Internal Audit Function. The key governance requirements now include requirements that the internal audit charter, mandate, resource plan, and budget must be approved by the Board/Audit Committee, that Internal audit be positioned independently that the Audit Committee must understand its role in supporting and overseeing the internal audit function.

The new Standards place a strong emphasis on Board/Audit Committee oversight, independence, and empowerment of the internal audit function through formal governance mechanisms.

Join us at this joint IOD and IIA NZ event for a panel discussion exploring the implications of the new Global IA Standard on governing the Internal Audit Function and its significance for New Zealand Boards. The discussion will delve into the practical implications of these principles and provide valuable insights into fostering effective board interaction and collaboration.
