SFO: Fraud Risks in Procurement

This presentation is for public sector employees responsible for any stage of an organisation's procurement process. It focuses on understanding the various forms of procurement fraud throughout the entire procurement lifecycle and how a risk-based approach can effectively assist employees to manage fraud risks.

Presenter: Natasha Pillai - Senior Counter Fraud Advisor, Serious Fraud Office

Natasha Pillai (she/they) is a Senior Counter Fraud Advisor with three years of experience at the Counter Fraud Centre. Natasha leads strategies aimed at enhancing fraud awareness and fostering counter fraud capabilities within the public sector. Natasha brings a diverse background to the Centre, having worked in both public and private sectors, including consulting positions at Deloitte and Accenture. This cross-industry experience provides a valuable perspective in addressing fraud and corruption, informed by expertise in strategy, risk management, cybersecurity, and governance. Throughout their career, Natasha has provided counsel to organisations on matters of risk management and strengthening their defenses against fraud.
