The Small Practitioners Interest Group (SPIG) is a discussion and networking forum for members in small teams to share experiences, issues and challenges they face. The group meet four times a year. All are welcome.

Topic: Business Resilience and Crisis Management Strategies for Small Practitioners with Tim Jones

SPIG Host: Mary Mwangi, Ministry for the Environment (MFE)

Overview: Join us for a dynamic session led by Tim Jones from KPMG at the Small Practitioners SPIG Meeting in March 2024, where we will explore Business Resilience, its Relationship with Crisis/Emergency Management and how we need to take a broader lens to build meaningful resilience in our organisations. Tim will guide us through an engaging and interactive facilitated workshop, encouraging participant interaction and discussion. Together, we will delve into the diverse facets of business resilience, exploring effective strategies and crisis management frameworks tailored for small practitioners. Don't miss this opportunity to gain valuable insights and collaborate with fellow professionals in navigating challenges and fostering resilience in your practice.

Bio: Tim in an Associated Director with KPMG New Zealand's consulting team. He specialises in Emergency/Crisis Management, Strategy and Transformation. Tim's approach Crisis/Emergency Management is focused around ensuring agencies can leverage integrated responses that put communities/stakeholders at the centre of their thinking. Tim has been with KPMG for five years and has worked with a number of clients such as the New Zealand Defence Force, New Zealand Police, Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment, Next Generation Critical Communications, as well as with local government Civil Defence and Emergency Management Teams. Tim has supported Public Sector clients on a number of large programmes of national significance. Prior to joining KPMG Tim worked for the NZDF both in and out of uniform, this included establishing and leading their Innovation Centre of Excellence. Tim holds a Masters in Strategic Studies from Victoria University of Wellington as well as a BA/BCom from Otago. Tim is also a Contributing Editor for Grounded Curiosity, an Australian Professional Military Education journal.
